i like to try to be funny.  most of the time i’m not.  when i uploaded this picture i wanted to make a joke about burning the candle at both ends.  yadda, yadda, blah, blah.  just not funny.  i suppose it is good that i realize i am not funny “on paper.”  i still think i’m pretty entertaining in person, though.

What a day

yesterday i had a job interview.  i’ve always thought i was fairly good at interviewing and maybe i am but yesterday i realized i *really* hate interviewing.  in my career i haven’t had to do much interviewing.  i’ve been lucky enough that i either wasn’t interested in moving jobs or i’ve gotten whatever job i’ve interviewed for.  my interview was in the middle of the day which meant that i spent all morning concentrating on preparation, then after the interview i was just exhausted.  by the time i sat down in front of the fire with a glass of wine, i realized i hadn’t picked up my camera even once the entire day.  so i picked up my camera and this is the result.  it is pretty much what you can imagine i’m doing at the end of the day after the kids are in bed.

Not quite the beginning

I began a 365 project on January 1, 2009.  I will make a photo a day for one year.  Come along with me.

I decided on day 14 to start this blog.  You can see the previous 13 days on Flickr.  I may end up putting them here too.

It is cold, even for here.  The light outside is extraordinary.  There is sunshine and sparkles on the snow.  It is breathtaking.  I took plenty of photos.  This is the one that speaks to me today.  So many facets.  The blur of the background.
